The Song of Prayer: Personal Insights

I am writing this now to give thanks to the people who care for me and pray for my well-being, and for guiding me to choose the right path—to give love through serving others. As I continue understanding myself and where I come from, I see how anger and guilt once consumed me in the depths of depression.

That mystic path is about direct experience—non-doership. It feels like a form of healing. Hypnotism, as used by ancient people, resembles trance-like healing, but with awareness of polarities, we can use the power of choice. The two indicators are: is it coming from fear or from love? Is it life-giving or life-taking?

In trance practices, people are guided into a sleep-like state to experience healing. This is used to alter the state of the mind and receive healing insights. Indigenous shamans and Babaylans use rhythms—chanting, drumming, and focused attention—to induce these trance states, bringing about deep focus and altered awareness.

Through observation, everything becomes magnified. This technique has existed long before us. Knowledge is powerful, and with free will, we must choose to use it rightly—for life. We can engage both the unconscious and conscious mind for growth and healing. Awareness often awakens from a broken heart, from unrequited love. We were all once genuine, but broken promises can break us. Still, we find the light.

Sleep itself is a kind of hypnosis. When we sleep, we enter altered states of consciousness. This healing modality is especially powerful in music—through harmony, rhythm, and tone.

As I observe changes in perception, I realize that nothing is truly stable in the realm of the mind. Beyond the mind lies a limitless stream of consciousness, where miracles unfold and reveal what has always been within us. It took me time to understand this. This tool is delicate—it can heal, but it can also destroy. What we create and what we destroy both come from the mind. The key is mindfulness: to recognize what is aligned and what is not. This is something I have truly experienced.

These spiritual practices are psychotherapy, like A Course in Miracles. We learn to shift our minds toward loving, heart-based thoughts. This kind of healing is now recognized and can help people struggling in mental health issues. The mind is like a tape recorder—past experiences often replay in loops, especially trauma and unstable childhood environments. Through awareness, we can choose suggestions, stories, and conversations that are life-giving.

From a scientific perspective, this is studied in psychology and neuroscience. It is seen as a state of focused attention with increased suggestibility, where the brain shows changes in perception, pain processing, and awareness. It is used for pain management, anxiety, stress, habit control, and therapeutic support.

I’ve come to understand these ideas through the works of Dr. Joe Dispenza, Eckhart Tolle, A Course in Miracles, You Can Heal your Life by Louise L. Hay and Power vs. Force by Dr. David Hawkins. Concepts like quantum mechanics suggest that through free will—by choosing love and life—healing can unfold. As blockages are removed, the flow of life begins again.

Now I understand more deeply. Life is mystical. You never fully know—it is a sacred mystery, a kind of living ritual, a form of magnetism.

Awareness is the first Step in Healing or Changing.
